Geo tapped his foot as he leaned against the wall beside the entrance to the Danger Room. His eyes were focused on the door down the hallway, and one of his eyebrows sat raised on his forehead.
I told them 10 AM sharp, he thought to himself. He wasn't really surprised; the Misfits had a tendency to be "fashionably late". Though, with Wolverine as their session instructor, today was not a good day to be late.
Geo was clad comfortably and proudly in his squad uniform. They had been given a basic design but were given some leeway with personalization, and were able to choose a color scheme. The Misfits quickly chose green and black. Geo had decided to make some practical modifications that would suit his powers, and his style. The sleeves of his synthetic fiber shirt had been cut short, and he opted for a belt with some pouches. He kept some sand and small rocks inside, for quick access in case he was ever out of touch with something earthy. The gloves had been cut shorter, and he rolled them down on his wrists. His pants were left unchanged, as were the black combat boots. Lastly, he kept his hair tied back behind his ears with a green headband.
The smaller door leading to the Danger Room central control opened and Wolverine stepped out. He was clad in his typical brown jacket and jeans, and he had a cigar in his mouth. He didn't look all that pleased, either.
"They better be comin', Geo." He barked with his usual growl. "I ain't one for waitin' around or bein' stood up by a bunch of kiddies."
Geo turned to Wolverine and gave him a reassuring smile. Angering him was the last thing he wanted to do. "They'll be here soon, Wolverine." He then sighed, and turned back to staring down the hall. "They'll be here."

Angel seethed as she walked as fast as she could. She had watched the clock like a hawk while she was in session with Ms. Frost but to no avail. Despite being prepared and bringing her uniform, there had been no mercy on the White Queen's end. Now she was late and there was nothing she could do about it. Decently sure she had shouldered someone out of the way in haste, she felt the heat of wrath energy pull at her skin. She wanted a fight now and she wanted it badly.
All because bitchy little Frost and her stupid overly posh accent. ' You leave when I dismiss you and not a second beforehand' -who the fuck does she-
Angel stopped for a moment, pausing her mental tirade and warring with her temper for control. Calmed enough to avoid influencing unsuspecting peers, she continued. There was a moment where she couldn't decide what was worse - being late for a Wolverine DR session or having to walk across the grounds already in uniform.
To be honest, it wasn't that she disliked it - she'd gotten the suit modified so that the top section that hovered over her collarbone and neckline was black mesh instead of the spandex they'd originally gotten. It was useful when she used her abilities, especially the lust energy, and it was well made. She just hated wearing it outside of training.
I swear if I ever find a way to shut her brain down, I'll pluck every last one of those stupid platinum blonde hairs of her pretty, little scalp.
Finally, she made it to the danger room. Flinging her bag out of harms way with enough force to make it smack loudly into the ground, she scanned the room. Geo had arrived and she tried to greet him with good humor, but she was decently sure that her look had barely lightened above 'murderous'.
"What did I miss?"

Katrina really wasn't a fan of being late, but it always seemed to happen to her for one reason or another. As she hurried down the halls of the sublevels of the school, she debated how best to word her explanation to Logan and Geo so that it wouldn't sound like an excuse. It was legitimate, but she'd found that hardly mattered most of the time. Anything was an excuse, but then, if you didn't explain, some people assumed you were just blowing them off. It was one of those lose/lose situations that pissed her right the fuck off.
As she turned the corner and made her way towards Geo and Wolverine, she finished pulling her thick blue/violet hair into a high ponytail to keep it out of her face. She stopped in front of them with a sort of bounce. She gave Geo an apologetic look and sighed silently, turning to Wolverine.
"Dr. McCoy...Tests results...Couldn't get away. Tried." She added the last word with a sort of helpless tone. She made a point to not sound whiny or look pathetic, if anything, she was a bit irritated, so she let that show. Wolverine didn't appreciate the pouty approach, she knew, not that she'd ever try it on him. She always strove to be straight with him. Dr. McCoy had caught her in the hall and insisted on discussing some oddities in her neurological readings over the last few nights. She'd tried to explain that she was needed elsewhere, but it wasn't until she named Wolverine and the Danger Room that he finally understood the severity of her need to get moving.
She reached down to zip up the black leather jacket with green accents that were the only thing she'd really added to her basic uniform. Lose the fingers on the gloves, new belt, leather jacket and add her own knee-high combat boots. She'd wanted to keep it simple but practical. She could embellish and stylize if she ever made X-Man. Besides, she didn't know much about herself back then, not really, so it would have felt weird to overpersonalize and her powers didn't lend themselves to any particular design or restrict her style choices in any way.
Kat looked around then and found herself even more irritated.

Kole hated being late, so he almost sprinted to the DR Room from the gym. As he entered the turbo-lift he checked his watch. "crap" He reached the DR floor and heard Roses voice though the door, and as if on cue the doors opened reveling him in his uniform. he had personalized his Uniform by adding baggie brown cargo pants with a black and green X across each shin along with his usual sunglasses to protect his eyes and like the other he also wore a pair of combat boots. "Hey guys sorry I'm late i got into a sparring match at the gm and it took a little longer than expected" It wasn't the greatest exude but if anyone would understand it it would be wolverine. Shade joined the group, his hair still dripping from the gym showers and said "Lets get started."

Geo pushed himself off the wall as the rest of his squad all seemed to arrive at nearly the same time. He sighed and shook his head. He only hoped Wolverine would keep his cool.
"You didn't miss anything." He commented. "We've been waiting."
Wolverine grunted and shrugged, and fortunately for them dismissed the excuses. "Whatever, you're all here now. Next time, don't be late, or I'll tell Gumbo." He turned and made his way back into the control room, shouting as he disappeared behind the door. "Get movin'!"
Geo sighed with a nod. "Let's go, then." Better late than never, he thought.
The door leading into the Danger Room opened and Geo stepped inside. He began walking to the center of the room, which was a rather large circular room constructed out of metal alloys and other technologies designed by Beast. The metal of the floor clanked beneath his boots.
Geo stopped in the circle situated in the center of the room and looked up to the control booth. Wolverine stood behind the controls, looking down. Geo could make out the slight annoyance on his face.
I have a feeling this is going to suck, was all he could think.

Angel followed Geo into the DR, feeling her blood chill. Her eyes flicked around as she tried to make a guess as to what Wolverine's plan would be for this session. Deep breaths doing little to keep her anger at bay, she felt the palms of her hands warm.
"Come on, it's not like you to keep us waiting..." she murmured.
She tensed and relaxed her muscles, waiting for the first inkling of trouble.

Kat wanted to say something to Shade about his being late, but she hadn't exactly been on time either. She figured the fear of Wolverine was enough to make him understand that maybe he should pay more attention to the time. She did a quick sweep of the others' emotions, finding it to be the usual. Sin was antsy, Shade was confident and Geo was more or less unreadable. She followed it up with an self-check as she walked into the center of the room with the others, aligning her energy properly and calming her mind. She watched and felt Sin tense and shift, heard her mumble.
"Easy, Sin. Relax first. It'll start when it starts," she said quietly to her friend. She made a point to stand facing a different direction than the others. It was better for them to be looking in all directions, since they didn't even know what the terrain would be like, let alone where the danger might come from. "Keep it close," she said just loud enough for the others to hear her. "Eyes sharp. Ready for anything but don't start too tense." The last note was more for Sin than the others and really, she didn't have to say these things anymore, they'd been doing these for years, but she found it was better to start that way anyway. It was familiar, hopefully encouraging and let them all know that she was ready too.
She glanced up at Wolverine in the observation and control booth.

Shade followed the others into the DR room, looking around the familiar room trying to guess what the would have to deal with. Manifesting a pair of Kali sticks in his hands, he took up position behind the others facing away covering there blind spots.
He could feel his pulse rising, not out of fear but from the kind of excitement that only battle could bring. the adrenaline coursing though his veins heightening his hearing, eyesight and reflexes to there pinnacle. Shade lived this feeling of being more alive than ever, this ..... level of focus that allows you to be faster and stronger than normal.
Shade heard Rose give her usual pre-session pep talk and added "We got this."

Geo watched as the others followed him into the room and took their positions in the circle. He took the most vulnerable position, as he always did. Being the strongest and toughest came with its responsibilities, after all.
He cracked his neck as Rose spoke and when she finished, Wolverine's voiced echoed over the intercom. Geo turned to look up at the control booth.
"Alright, kiddies, now that we've got you all comfy and settled", he began, with a smirk on his face. "It's time to get workin' Now, remember, I'll be watchin' from up here, so no funny business. This is an exercise in teamwork, too. As much as I'm not the poster boy for that, Professor says I gotta say that. Don't do what I do, yeah?"
There was a sudden beep and then a low hum as the room around them began to shift and change. Geo looked around as the smooth, metallic floor began to take on a rocky and street-like appearance. The walls seemed to expand and, as they did, change into huge buildings and skyscrapers, some of the damaged or in ruins.
Geo could feel his heartbeat rising, and he shut his eyes and centered his breath. His heartbeat slowed as his body relaxed. When he opened his eyes, his mouth fell slightly agape.
They were now standing in the middle of what appeared to be a city. Geo recognized a few landmarks, or what's left of them, as staples of Chicago's skyline. Humans ran by them as they stood grouped in the circle, screaming and shouting. Overhead, helicopters and planes zoomed overhead. Explosions and gunfire could be heard in the distance, and the smoke rose above the buildings. Debris cluttered the street they stood upon, and the sound of crunching metal and shattering glass was ever present.
Geo turned his head and spotted a battalion of soldiers coming down the street. They didn't appear to be the military, and Geo could only think them to be one other thing.
Damnit, he thought.
His suspicions were confirmed when they appeared to spot the four and quickened their pace. Their weapons were raised and pinned on them. These were Anti-Mutant Special Forces, no doubt.
Geo clenched his fists and his skin began to morph. There was the sound of moving sand and pebbles as his form became covered in organic rock. His hair turned obsidian black and his eyes turned a luminescent yellow. Inside, he could feel his body entered the psychokinetic stasis that came with his rockform.
He turned his head to the others and nodded. "Stay close to me." He warned and stepped out from their grouping, holding his hands out towards the street beneath him.
The soldiers looked as if they were about to fire and Geo focused his mind and soon a portion of the street beneath them rumbled and broke, raising into the air. Geo directed the massive chunk of granite in front of him and the soldiers' bullets met the shield, riddling it with bullet holes.
Geo turned his head to see another group of soldiers. closing in from the other side. He pushed his hand forward and the granite slab slammed into the first group, sending them flying backwards.
"Move!" He shouted to his teammates, as he moved as quick as he could towards the second group.

Kat's muscles tensed as Wolverine spoke. She could feel her heart racing as she ran through all of the infinite things they could get. Would there be blasts immediately, would they have time to think? She took a deep breath as the room shifted around them according to its programming. She exhaled slowly and let her eyes dart around to take in every aspect as it changed that she could see. City terrain, damaged, overturned cars, good for cover, Geo could use as projectiles. Bright, midday, Shade was at a disadvantage, if minimal, still good to keep in mind. Broken asphalt in roads, hazardous but easily avoided. Smoke, debris, could be used for advantages. Civilians running, screaming. Shit. Sirens, gunfire, explosions, sounds of helicopters. Fun, don't get distracted by them. Quick look up, no immediate threat from aircraft of any kind. Focus.
Soldiers. No. Not soldiers? Not US military. What were those uniforms?
please be on our side. Please be on our side. Please be on our-
Fuck.
She knew the drill, she heard Geo's warning and took a few steps closer to him, keeping her stance solid and planted. Her hands were near her tonfa, ready to grab them. When they raised their guns, Geo shielded the squad and broke the ground beneath the Special Forces. Rose's tonfa were in her hands in seconds. She could hear the bullets hitting the shield. Goddamnit, she hated when the enemy had guns. And now there were more, pressing in from both sides. Shit. They were going to have to split up.
"Move!
Geo rushed in the direction of the second group. Kat focused her energy into her arms and legs to give her a speed boost and knew that when she hit it was going to hurt a lot more than usual. She followed the granite slab that Geo had shoved at the first group That would only stop some of them and only for so long.
She shouted orders as she moved.
"Shade! With Geo! Target weapons first, wielders second! Sin! With me! Gluttony crowd control! I'll feed Wrath!"
Sure enough, some of the soldiers who hadn't been hit by the wall of granite were making their way towards her. She used her energy boosted legs to carry her quickly into close range where she could start disarming and neutralizing them. Always the master of mulitasking, she pulled their energies into herself to boost her own fighting ability-just some from each enemy, depleting someone's personal energy was dangerous and this way was more efficient anyway- and reached out to tap directly into Sin's emotional state, fueling the portion of her that was connected to Wrath with angry feelings.
She kept her usual ties to the emotional states of all of her teammates as well. They'd been working and fighting together for so long, she hadn't found a physical distance long enough to keep her from staying connected to them. (Even Geo, she might not be able to read him outright, but he had surface emotions and she was at least aware of them, even if they were vague.) It was the perfect way to keep track of her team, know they were. [/blockquote]

Angel closed her eyes and tried to center her breath. Wolverine announced that the session was starting and she grit her teeth. As their environment hummed to life, her eyes snapped open. Surveying the surroundings, she tensed - ready to fight. Gunfire rang out in the distance and she looked to see the source. It sounded like it came from the soldiers approaching and that was no military uniform she'd ever seen.
Anti-mutant fucknuts. Greeeat.
She felt the heat of wrath tighten her skin as Geo made the barrier. Bullets raining on the rock shield, she held position trying to assess the situation. Another batch of soldiers approached and the group and they had to split.
"Shade! With Geo! Target weapons first, wielders second! Sin! With me! Gluttony crowd control! I'll feed Wrath!"
Slightly surprised by that call, she felt the connection ramp up her anger. Arcing her hand out, she sent wrath heat out to disorient those closest to Rose. Satisfied, she pulled up more wrath.
The desire for violence was maddening - to inflict pain, break bones. It filled her mind and suddenly anything would do. Raking nails against skin, even to feel flesh give way under her teeth was tempting.
Got it!
Bloodlust became lust and lust became hunger, the need to cause pain replaced by the hollow consumption of gluttony. Moving her attack hand down harshly, she watched as the soldiers began to disorient further. One in particular seemed to be particularly weak to it, already buckling.
Rushing forward, she punched one in the face who was trying to raise his weapon at Rose.
"Rose, we need to find out what they're doing here besides riddling us with holes."

Shade listened to wolverine announce the beginning of the session, and as the room rumbled to life He dropped into a fighting stance. As the room took shape he noted the strategic advantages and disadvantages. The scene was midday, witch sucked but wasn't to bad and tall buildings meant plenty of shadows.
Shade was facing away from the first group of soldiers so he didn't notice them until Geo yelled "Stay close to me." Shade turned and saw Geo raise the concrete shield just in time then rose gave her orders and he and Geo went after the second group of soldiers. Shade kept pace with Geo as they move toward the approaching men but just as the men entered the shadow of a building. Shade reached out with his hand and as he jerked his hand up right, Shadow matter tentacles shot up out of the ground and wrestled the soldier's guns away from them. Then Shade lowered his hand and the tentacles receded into the ground, pulling the weapons into the shadow realm.
Then he said to Geo "I got the ten on the left, you get the ten on the right"
Losing their weapons had caused them to break ranks so Shade teleported behind them and quickly eliminated two of them with his kali sticks by dealing two quick strikes to the back of their heads. Then he side stepped and delivered a bone breaking kick to the rib cage of a third, sending him stumbling back into another soldier. A soldier to Shade's left reached for his side arm, and just as he drew his weapon Shade threw one of his kali sticks at him hitting him in the temple and stunning him. Then he followed up with a blast of shadow energy. He then transformed his remaining kali stick into a full length quarterstaff witch he used to dispatch the six men remaining for him.

Geo moved as quickly as he could towards the second cluster of soldiers. Shade was already busy locked in combat across from him when Geo reached the group. He launched a tremendous punch towards the first soldier he saw, sending him flying through the air. He slammed against a car and collapsed with a thud, the man gripped his chest. He writhed in pain.
Gunshots resounded through the air and Geo felt vibrations against his back. He straightened his back and the bullets riddled the rock that protected his back. After a few moments, the gunfire ceased. He looked over his shoulder and slowly turned around. He could see the fear in the soldier's eyes.
Geo looked down at the chunks of gravel and sandstone, then looked up with a smirk.
"My turn."
There was the sound of shattering rock as the gravel and sandstone rose into the air in the shape of tiny, bullet-like fragments of rock. Geo flicked his palms and the 'bullets' soared towards the soldiers, piercing their armor and distracting them long enough for Geo to get close.
His fists and feet met the soldiers, and their armor shattered, along with their bones beneath it. They howled and yelped in pain, unable to withstand the force of what felt like a massive boulder hammering down upon them. Soon, the soldiers lay scattered across the street, crumpled and broken.
Suddenly, there was a low, erratic hum on the air. Geo looked up and a helicopter pierced the horizon, appearing from behind a burning building. He could make out a gunner situated in its passenger bay. Geo quickly turned to Shade, who was still busy with the other soldiers.
His attention snapped back to the helicopter and he made a break for a large pile of rubble. His stride made cracks in the street as he pushed himself towards the rubble. The copter flew closer and he could hear the gunner preparing his weapon.
Geo made a quick decision and rose a pillar of earth from the ground. He grunted and sent it towards the copter blades, which struck them with a fiery explosion. The gunner lost his footing and fell, holding onto the landing legs for his life.
The aircraft spun out of control, and it began to nosedive to the ground rather quickly. Geo spotted a group of civilians fleeing from the city, unaware they were running right into the helicopter's destructive path. He turned on his feet, raising a few pillars and jumping across them. He landed and planted his feet against the rubble pile.
Geo braced himself and raised his arms in the air. He growled and caught the helicopter before it crashed against the street. He kicked away the soldier quickly, sending him flying to the ground. His form crackled as he strained to hold the aircraft. He gritted his teeth and then lightly tossed the helicopter behind him. It landed with a loud thud and dust rose into the air.
Proud of himself, Geo smirked. He jumped down from the rubble and began to make his way back to his team, still locked in combat.

Kat ducked fast to dodge a swing by a soldier, causing him to hit one of his own. She stayed low and spun around him, coming back up to bring her tonfa to the back of his head. She felt someone behind her and before she had time to react, one of them had hooked their arms up under hers to try to hold her. She focused on absorbing their energy and blocking its flow to sap their strength and render them much less mobile. She kicked an incoming soldier hard in the stomach before twisting around to disengage the other and made quick work of targeting his pressure points, leaving his limbs more or less useless.
"Rose, we need to find out what they're doing here besides riddling us with holes.
Not riddling me with holes, she thought, too much in the middle of them, they can't get a good shot without risking shooting each other. It wasn't the best plan ever and it was giving her quite the workout, but she wasn't Shade or Geo, she had no real way to protect herself from bullets.
"You wanna grab one and question him be-" she sweep-kicked one guy and knocked some kind of baton out of the hands of another. "-My guest." One of them got behind her and caught her in the side with their baton. She winced and buckled a little but quickly turned and angrily to bring her tonfa savagely against the side of her assailant's head. It was reactionary and she was glad for the fact that the soldiers were wearing helmets or she might have killed him. As it was, he was still rendered unconscious, but she was certain were he a real person he'd survive with a nasty headache when he woke. She tried to avoid lethal force if she could help it, finding her conscious clearer if she could manage to spare the lives of the people who would try to kill her. Of course, she knew that realistically she would one day be directly responsible for ending the life of another human being, but so long as she had explored other options first, she figured she could handle it.
She could hear the sounds of a helicopter's lades chopping through the air. She looked up and growled low to herself. fuck. She glanced at the others, about to shout for Geo. But he seemed on top of it. She was glad for it as she had to duck hard to avoid someone swinging at her. She turned her attention back to the soldiers, trusting Geo to handle the copter situation and ask for help if he needed it. She could hear and feel the after effects of the aircraft exploding as she found herself being surrounded.
She gathered a little more energy from the people around her until she felt that she could not hold any more foreign energy within herself. She held still and focused her own personal energy in sections on her body to create tiny energy shields like armour that only covered one spot at a time and only for a moment. She split her focus between her mini shields and collecting the energy she'd gathered from others in a single point within herself. She let a number of soldiers close in on her before releasing it all into a scattering burst, knocking back two waves of enemies in a small radius.
The earth was shaking and there were more screams from closer than Rose was really okay with. She took the momentary lapse in attackers to turn and look at what was happening. What she saw was Geo straining to hold up the fucking helicopter he'd just taken down and toss it behind him like it was no big thing. She noted his grin and smirked a little, shaking her head.
Show off," she muttered before ever muscle in her body tensed at the sensation of three bullets whizzing past various parts of her. they'd BARELY missed and that scared the shit out of her. How had she left herself that open. She refocused her energy as she dove at the ground and rolled behind one of the unconscious bodies of the soldiers she'd felled. She took a deep breath and peered out from behind someone's shoulder, targeting the three soldiers with their guns poised. She focused on the sheer panic she was keeping from letting consume her and freeze her will to fight. She fed it a little with a thought of how easily she could be DEAD right now and focused on the three targets, filling them with that feeling, forcing them to feel panicked, terrified and cripplingly aware of their own mortality. That would buy her some time as they fought with themselves to stay focused. They were trained anti-mutant forces, sure, but one of them found himself unable to move more than shake, one screamed loudly and dropped his firearm, the third twisted her head slightly, clearly trying to shake it off and fight through. She was doing better than the other two but there was no way she was going to be aiming properly.
Yes, this would buy her some time and distract them enough for Sin to get in there and cause some havoc if she was done questioning people. [/blockquote]

Angel was busy with her own trouble, punching one soldier in the face and sweeping the legs out under another. A third had gotten punched in the face and was well on his way to unconscious. The sound of a cocking gun attracted her attention, panic rose for a moment and she scanned the area for a raised gun.
Fuck!
He was already aimed, just out of her own strike range. Swinging her body weight, she threw her victim at the shooter. From his surprised shout, she figured she disoriented him enough to unsteady his shot. Desperately she prayed that he'd missed his target as she whirled to right herself.
In her peripheral she saw a fall of purple hair and something snapped, Wrath unchaining itself. Images of Rose bleeding out, scared filled her mind and her vision went red. Arcing her hand sharply-she, prayed fucking prayed that she'd kill him.
Red energy pulsed from her hand- following the curve she made in her gesture and striking her target violently. He went down screaming loudly through his face mask and she took the opportunity to check on her leader.
Sliding up roughly, she struck a woman who looked to be getting her bearings in the head with her elbow. She went down hard, probably out cold.
"Are you alright?"
She lined up back to back with Rose as well as she could and surveyed the soldiers. Most were incapacitated and those that weren't were horribly disoriented and in no condition to fight. For a moment, her mind went to that odd energy arc and frowned.
Don't know and don't wanna know. I'll worry about it later.
