Shade thought for a moment trying to recall where the club was "I'm pretty sure its in the village, so we can stop a few places before hand. I still need a new pair of DR room safe sunglasses"
"Does anyone need/want to pick anything up while we are in the city?"

Kat couldn't help but smile at Vicky's enthusiasm. She was so adorable sometimes. She looked around at the others at Kole's question before shrugging.
"I'm good. And, Kole, why not get a visor made for you or something? Glasses are always gonna fall off or get broken." She'd taken care of the only other reason she'd had to be in the city, and was starting to feel a little antsy, trying to figure out how/when would be best to bring that up. Eh, she'd get to it. In the meantime she turned to Mirror to comment on her outfit. "By the way, Vicky, that skirt looks adorable on you!"
She shifted her weight to one leg, fighting the urge to tap her foot. She was feeling fidgety, but not for anxiety reasons, she was just in such a good mood today and she was finding it a little difficult to stand still. She felt confident and in control and just, content with things. It was nice to get out, too. She loved the Institute something fierce but her love for adventure always nagged at her. She was sure if she ever made X-Man, she'd feel the opposite, always out on missions or something, longing to get home the Xavier's. But she'd love it all just the same. If she ever made X-Man...she stopped herself, refused to think about negative things. Tonight was a night for good things. She even ignored some of the weird looks and the occasional sneers she was getting from passerby who noticed her eyes or didn't assume her hair was dyed. They didn't bother her. She couldn't think of anything she'd let get to her, not tonight. [/blockquote]

Angel thought for a moment, then shrugged.
"Nothing i can think of aside from dinner. I know it when I find it." Her mind was on two things - first, amazement that all her friends were in one place to hang out and second, she had forgotten to get lunch and that was a very dumb idea. The lack of movement was bothersome too. Whenever she came to the city, she moseyed until she found somewhere interesting to stop and then went back home. Planning while being still was an entirely new experience for her as a tourist and while not hated, she really would rather keep moving.
Of course, the not-staring of the people around them was doing bad things to her nerves too. Trying to push bad thoughts out of her train of thought, she rubbed her hands together excitedly.
As Angel thought, she caught the eyes of a young man who was heading back for his second round of scowling at the mutants and pressed her fingers together. It looked odd, like she had suddenly raised her wrists, but the crack was audible. It was the best warning she could manage without dropping her smile. Satisfied at his sudden change in direction and change of life decision, she "Heh"-ed slightly.
"So, it sounds like we got a plan. Enough standin' around, yeah?"
She was sure that someone not Shade was going to chide her for being too aggressive.
Oh well.

Ray shook his head and laughed. Sin was perhaps the most gung-ho of all them, and he wasn't surprised she was the first one to urge them to get moving. He shrugged.
"Well, Mirror and I have already eaten, but if you guys are hungry, we can stop somewhere and we'll just get dessert or coffee, I guess."
Ray smiled and then took Mirror's hand, starting to walk down 34th Street towards the East Village. Of all them, Ray knew the city best. He was fairly certain that if Shade had his way, he'd just teleport them all to wherever they had to go, but there wasn't much fun in that. New York was considered by many to be the greatest city in the world, so it didn't make sense to just skip all the sights.
Cars crowded 8th Avenue and the cabs honked their horns obnoxiously. Most of the crowds that passed them didn't seem to notice any of the 'differences' between themselves and the group of young mutants, but Ray could make out some looks and hushed comments. Still, no one protested. Most New Yorkers were rather used to seeing mutants and thought nothing of them. Provided, of course, they weren't the Brotherhood.

Mirror laughed and smiled at Rose. "Thank you!" She said happily. "I rather like it myself!"
She felt good that someone aside from Ray liked her outfit. It wasn't that she didn't believe or appreciate Ray's comments, but he was, well, biased. Mirror could be a little self-conscious about her looks at times, so someone else commenting that she looked good made her feel confident.
When Ray took her hand and began to walk, Mirror smiled. She walked slowly beside him, taking in the sights. She turned to the others walking beside her after a moment, looking at Shade specifically.
"Ray told me you can teleport, too!" Mirror said. "How does yours work... um, Kole, was it?" She laughed. "I'm sorry, sometimes I can be a little air-headed and forget names!"

Kole listened to Rose then said "I was thinking about it, like maybe have beast design me a visor that would be able to do a bunch of cool stuff. maybe like zoom in and the pics or video and give me readouts on what I'm looking at base on what ever Cerebo knew about it? That would be cool........ and really useful"
Then after Sin mentioned eating he said "I could eat."
he listened to Mirror's question and answered. "Yea, the way I do it is I slip into a shadow demi plain........" noticing her look of confusion Kole explained "Its like a weird pocket of space in-between detentions, thats made entirely out of shadow. Anyway I slip into it in one spot and exit it any where else I can think of ....within a certain range of course. I would give you a demo but we.." Kole gestures around " are already attracting stares. how does yours work?"

She gave snort at Kole's comment. "You can always eat," she muttered. As they walked, she thought about what Kole had said about the visor. He didn't seem to understand how Cerebra worked At first she wondered why he would be the one to need access to information, then realized his powers did make him an excellent scout. It could be pretty useful. Now, if only he could understand a difference between the school's computer archives and Cerebra itself. She'd explain later if she could remember. For now, Kole was explaining his powers to Vicky. She was glad he said he wasn't going to show off. People weren't glaring much or giving them a hard time. They weren't staring as much as Kole made it seem, but there was no reason to draw their attention unnecessarily.
She listened to the others and let her eyes wander over the city, the busy streets, the honking cars, the lights. She smiled and listened to everything and took in all of the sights. It was....It was a good day. A nice evening. The weather was pleasant, her friends were with her, they were happy, she looked cute and she had her good news to share later when she figured out the right time. It didn't seem prudent to bring anything up yet, and Kole was the only one who'd commented on her clothes and makeup, so it would wait. She wouldn't distract the others with her selfish happiness just yet, now was a time for shared happiness by being with friends. They could all be happy for her later. She listened for now, not feeling the need to add anything to the conversation, but enjoying being privy to it.

Angel half listened as they walked along towards wherever Geo was leading. Suddenly, she noticed Kat spacing out. Humming to herself, she suddenly began to sing. Her pitch was more for herself and Kat but she was sure she got her point across.
"Ground control to Major Tom..." filling in the lyrics with some humming, she grinned.
Leaning toward Kat, she smiled.
"Can you hear me Major Tom?"
Chuckling, she kept walking.
"Everything good? I don't need to have a 'conversation' with some fool do I? You how I love to practice the art of 'conversation'."
She asked, air quoting appropriately. Honestly, she was half-joking. She was having a good time and it'd take a lot to actually make her ready to commit violence.
