Ev'rybody Was Kung Fu Fighting (Open)

[Ray "Geo" Kessler]

"You can either hear it from us, or from one of the staff." Ray smiled slightly. "I know you get lectured by Beast. He's mentioned it casually to me before."

Ray wiped his mouth and hands with his napkin and tossed it onto his plate full of eaten chicken wings. He finished off his soda and nodded to the others.

"We should all rest. Danger Room session is bright and early tomorrow." Ray sighed. "And with Wolverine running it, you know we're going to be in for it."

[Kole "Shade" Hannigan]

"Yea, you're right." Shade said to geo. then he finished his food and said "Does anyone want to meet up before hand for a quick warm up?"

[Katrina "Black Rose" Richards]

Kat rolled her eyes at her friends. So her eating habits were weird, maybe weirder than usual lately, but she WAS eating. If she weren't she wouldn't be able to make it through her classes or training sessions. She wasn't wasting away or passing out or anything.

She side-eyed Ray as she chewed a piece of sushi-It was good, for cafeteria sushi. The way that boy cozied up to the faculty, she was almost surprised he didn't call Dr. McCoy "Hank." But he was right, the good doctor was on her case lately. About a lot of things. He was starting to sound a little more like a concerned parent than a concerned scientist sometimes. She made a mental note to at least make her habits LOOK more normal.

She couldn't help but be amused at Kole's displeasure over tomorrow's assignment/ She really didn't like Wolverine's sessions either, especially now that they were older and closer to graduating to full fledged X Men, he wasn't pulling the punches anymore. However, she really did feel like they were more beneficial. But she also knew Kole kind of liked to complain. She sympathized as she could get that way herself.

The idea of rest seemed distant to her, though.

"I'll relax or whatever, but if anyone thinks I'm getting sleep any time soon they don't know me very well," she muttered before drinking more of her soda and eating her salad. She wasn't the most regular sleeper, even when she wanted to. She had a tendency to either stay up vegging out in the rec room or her room until she couldn't keep her eyes open. She wondered idly if any of her internet friends would be online tonight. Or maybe she'd do some sketching. Maybe she'd stay in her room, though, to avoid the temptation of doing something active? "It's way too early."

Angel finished the rest of her food with gusto. Now that her powers weren't overwhelming her senses, she could actually taste everything. Hearing Kole suggest a warm up before the Danger Room, she shrugged. Truth was she wanted to rest as much as possible before getting worked over by Wolverine's session, then again having to deal with Frost before hand wasn't exactly prime either.

Angel groaned at the realization, decently sure that Frost scheduled her this way intentionally.

God, does she get a bonus every time her bitchiness dicks one of us over?! she ranted, scowling at her plate in annoyance.

"I'll meet you if you want a partner, but warning you now - I have a session with Ms. Frost before that. You may just want me to save it for the Danger Room."

She rose from her seat, stretching as she eyed the line.

"Since tomorrow is going to be trifling as hell, I'm going to get dessert. I think I saw brownies - anybody want anything?"

Ray looked up at Sin and shook his head. "No, I'm good." He replied. "Thanks, though."

Ray then turned to Shade. "Normally I'd agree, but I promised I'd meet Mirror for breakfast." He then immediately jerked a finger at his roommate. "Say nothing, or you'll spend the night under a rock."

[Kole "Shade" Hannigan]

Shade looked around at the group "Oh well, if any of you changes your mind I'll be in the gym bright and early."

"and Geo I don't have to say anything, your knee-jerk reaction to shut me up before I get the chance says it all"

[Katrina "Black Rose" Richards]

Kat gave a short snicker sort of laugh and smirked. She shot a glance at Kole before he made his comment. She rolled her eyes a little and casually made a comment of her own. He'd warned off Kole, not Kat.

"Aren't breakfast dates reserved for 'the morning after' and old people trying to get the early bird specials?" She fought off a grin as best she could and ate the last few pieces of sushi, eyeing Ray for his response. He didn't respond to much, but jokes about him and Victoria seemed to get his goat a bit. And Kat never could resist.

Angel strutted over, fully prepared to enjoy the HELL out of her brownies. Catching the tail end of Kat teasing Ray about some romantic thing. Opportunities like this were rare and that meant taking full advantage.

"His mind is telling him no..." She grinned toothily as she sat down, singing in a horrible imitation of R. Kelly's voice.

"But his body, his body is tellin' him-"

She paused momentarily, confused. Shrugging, she took a bite of brownie.

"Well, depends on the girl - so who's the lucky one?"

Ray rolled his eyes and sighed at his friends' antics. They liked to tease him about his relationship with Mirror - even though he's never actually said they were dating or anything of the sort.

He then turned to Sin. "Mirror." He explained. "You know, Victoria? Victoria Daugherty? She's on The Wayfarers." He made a face. "How do you not know this?"

[Kole "Shade" Hannigan]

Dam I was hoping Geo would come so Iwould have a sparring partner. oh well some one will be there. thought shade

"Sin is a special little thing. She doesn't pay much attention to gossip."

[Katrina "Black Rose" Richards]

Kat threw her hands up like she was trying to freeze frame the scene. Her eyebrows went up and she couldn't help the smirk on her face.

"Wai-wai-wait!" She declared to everyone before turning to Ray. "Did you just finally admit that you two are an item? I'm pretty sure you did!" She looked at the others. "You guys heard that, right?" She eyed Ray again for a reaction, pretty sure that he was going to put everything behind that invisible rock form he had in his mind or whatever. That's what he always did when it came to things like this. Put on a straight face, MAYBE with a smile but never a telling one. She always wondered why he felt the need to hide from them. The rest of the world, she got that, but they were his friends, his squad-mates. She didn't push, though. That wouldn't do anyone any good and as nosy as she was, it really was his prerogative.

"I dunno, sounds like pretty damning evidence to me."

Angel chuckled at this whole thing, wondering how soon Ray would shut the antics down and get them all back to business. Private nature be damned, she wished he would lighten up a bit. But everyone deserved their privacy she supposed and settled for giving him a light side-eye as she finished her brownie.

Ray let them have their fun for a moment, and he kept his hands together as his elbows rested on the table. He soon gave them his infamous smile, and shook his head.

"Alright, alright." He said flatly. "I'm going to go catch up on some studying before I get some rest."

He rose from his seat and carried the remnants of his lunch to the trash can and dumped them inside. He placed the tray in the return bin and walked back to the table.

"Remember, 10 AM sharp tomorrow morning." He said, accompanied by a slight nod. "Get some sleep, all of you." He looked at Rose specifically.

He turned and began to walk away, giving Shade a wave. "I'll see you in the room."

"see ya ray I'll be up later" Shade thought for a moment then said " I should probably go to, I told Maranda I would stop by at some point tonight." hole then got up and threw out his tray then as he walked pst the table again said "later"
