Ray Kessler sat across from Sin at their usual lunch table, picking at his pasta salad idly. He furrowed his brow and looked up at her.
"Where are Shade and Rose?" He questioned, looking around the cafeteria before checking his watch. "They are both usually here before us."
It was true. Shade usually just instantly teleported from wherever he was and Ray gave Rose enough of a hard time for not eating that she made it a habit to always be at the table before him. Emma Frost always kept Sin over her usual therapy hour, which was the reason she was the last to arrive for lunch.
"I hope the Omegas aren't holding them up." He commented under his breath, just loud enough for Sin to hear. "I'm not dealing with Jezebel today."

Angel was distracted from her meatball sandwich with concerns of where her other team members were. She arched an eyebrow at Geo's question and thought for a moment before shrugging. Having not eaten before her weekly-ish pound of flesh with Frost, her mind was slightly preoccupied with 'DELICIOUS FOOD TASTY YES'.
"Dunno. Maybe Shade tried to teleport her one time too many and she's off hiding the body. I wouldn't worry about it- you know Rose hates being late."
She readied for another bite of sandwich when he mentioned the Omegas. To be fair, the Omegas seemed to have mostly earned their reputation and she could easily see how others would get tired of their antics. Most of them could go to hell - but Jez and Spite weren't too bad on their good days.
And they could all use a little sympathy having Frost as their mentor - Angel mentally shuddered. Having that woman actually invested in you - she wanted no part of knowing what that was like.
"Come on G., you know how it is with Babylon - start talkin' about her - she's bound to show up."

"Ok, so this is gonna go real simple. Really simple? Yes. Really, not real." Kat shook her head at her need to correct her own grammar but mostly at making the mistake in the first place. This plan was hilarious, she was sure of it. She looked from Kole to Jamie for a second, outside of the cafeteria.
"Jamie, remember to wait for my signal. Kole, let me handle the distraction itself but play along with looking so it seems more legit." She had a good idea of what would get them all looking away just long enough, but she wanted to handle it. Geo could read the bluff in Kole's voice more often than not at this point. "You ready to meet the Misfits?" She asked Jamie with a kind grin, though her eyes had a mischievousness amusement to them. [/blockquote]

Jamie was currently in the form of a Golden Retriever puppy. Kat had created an elaborate plan for how to introduce her to the others. Being shy and skittish, Jamie just decided to go along with the plan. However, her entire body was shaking. Nervously, Jamie began nuzzling Kat's leg, seeking comfort.
"Are you sure they are going to be ok with this and accept me?" Jamie thought-spoke to Kat. Despite Kat and Kole's assurance that she would be accepted, Jamie was so used to rejection and fear that she couldn't help her skepticism and nerves.

Kole stood in the hall outside the cafeteria, listening to Kat explain the plan and nodding along to confirm he heard her. as he looked around the halls he noticed Jamie in puppy form nervously nuzzling Kat's leg, and while Kole may not share Kat's level of empathy he certainly understood dogs. Kole knelt down and scratched under Jamie's chin until she made eye contact with him then said in the most reassuring voice he could muster "Hey, just relax. these are good people you can trust them."
Kole remembered how she felt from when he first got here. getting pulled of the streets and set up in a mansion at not cost to you is enough to make anyone suspicious.
